LACK OF CONFIDENCE (Copy)
Have you found yourself wanting to change? Feeling motivated and excited as you started and then after trying realising that it was not that easy.
Your brain offers all kinds of sophisticated reasons as to why it was a terrible idea to begin with.
How:
It’s not the right time
I'm not ready or I'm too old
It’s not possible
I should just give up and go back to the old way of doing things
Notice how your brain shows you all kinds of evidence from your past to predict your future.
It will probably never happen
I have never done it before
It will be too hard to figure out how
I don’t have the skills needed
But your past does not determine your future, useless YOU let it.
The issue with looking to your past to predict your future is that you will only be able to repeat what you have done in the past.
Sure you can fine tune it and grow a little but it’s very limited vs trying things you have never done before which allows you to grow tremendously.
When doing things for the first time we need to step into the belief of our future self. The person who already accomplished what we are looking to achieve. The person who knows that:
It’s possible
I will figure it out
It will take time and effort but I will find a way
I will learn how
I am capable
You learn by trying, failing, trying, failing, trying again and succeeding. Mastery only comes from doing. Repetition, practising, redesigning and tweaking the process until it’s the right one for you.
The key to success is massive action. Taking action until you get the result that you want. Actions which give you both positive and negative results. Results that you can learn from to do better next time.
Change the “I don’t know how” to “I’ll figure it out” or “I will try until I find a way”, then go out and test which “how” works and doesn't work for you.
Be willing to fail in order to succeed.
